Memorial Lectures and Tributes

Many lectures and tributes were given in Liz's name in the two years after her passing, some of which are ongoing to this day. 


Rosh Hodesh Av 5759 - Rebbetzin Liz's funeral was attended by over a thousand people. The service was held at the Young Israel of Oceanside.


Tisha B'Av 5759 - Young Israel of Oceanside New York together with the Chofetz ChayimFoundation held an evening sponsored by Ben and Hedy Lipschitz.


Wednesday, August 11th, 1999 - Rosh Hodesh Elul 5759. The shloshim included some guest speakers at the Young Israel of Oceanside: Rabbi Mordechai Katz of Yeshiva Torah VeDaath, Rabbi Yosef Blau, mashghiah ruchani of Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, Rabbi Hershel Yolles, the Samborer Rabbi of Brooklyn New York, Josh Landes and Rabbi Chaim Schwartz.


Monday, September 13th 1999 - Rabbi Shimon Kessin led a seminar on the High Holidays on the prohibition of Lashon Hara, organized by Ms. Phyllis Blackman at the Lincoln Square Synagogue of Manhattan.


Wednesday, December 22nd 1999 - a memorial lecture was delivered by Rabbi Schwartz at Beit Midrash Ohr Hachaim, of Berkley, California, sponsored by Chanan and Jody Feld.


Fall 1999 to the winter of 2000 - Young Israel of Oceanside New York held a memorial lecture series for Rebbetzin Liz by woman and for women. The lecturers included: Shulamith Gottesman Rubin, Rebbetzin Ruchie Billet, Rebbetzin Myrna Weinberger, Mrs. Esther Wein, Rebbetzin Leah Cohen and Rebbetzin Debbie Greenblatt.


Fall 1999 to spring 2000 - Congregation Ohav Sholom held a monthly series in memory of Rebbetzin Liz.


Spring 2000 - Ateret Seminary for women held a course given by Rabbi Schwatrz in Liz’s memory.


In the fall of 2000 the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations, the International Network of Health Professionals (Nefesh) and the Rabbinical Council of America co-sponsored a conference in memory of Rebbetzin Liz entitled, 'Building and strengthening a healthy marriage and family'. 
The Bikur Cholim program of the five towns and Far Rockaway, through the efforts of Estie Hershkowitz, was dedicated in Rebbetzin Liz's memory.
